DIG orders swift disposal of pending cases

ISLAMABAD: DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, chaired the meeting, which was attended by investigation officers and complainants. During the meeting, a comprehensive review of ongoing investigations was conducted. On this occasion, the DIG Islamabad directed all officers to further improve their performance and ensure strict legal action against individuals involved in serious crimes.
He emphasized that all cases must be investigated strictly on merit and with transparency, and completed at the earliest so that challans may be submitted to the relevant courts without delay.
He also issued directions regarding effective patrolling, crime prevention, and strengthening action against criminal elements to curb unlawful activities. Special directives were given to tighten the grip on habitual offenders and ensure their elimination from society through lawful means.
DIG Islamabad further stressed the need to equip the investigation process with modern technology in line with evolving requirements. He reiterated that all officers must finalize pending cases purely on merit.
He added that the restructuring of the Investigation Wing aims to ensure the timely and merit-based completion of investigations and to improve the quality of criminal case inquiries, so that the net can be tightened around criminals and crime can be eradicated from society.
