Over 7000 personnel deployed for Eid security

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq has formulated a comprehensive security plan for Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr religious gatherings, as well as for patrolling across various sectors during the holidays.
In this regard, more than 7,000 police officers and officials of Islamabad Police and volunteers will perform their duties on Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr. Around 3,000 police officers and officials will be deployed for security at mosques, imambargahs and open places across the city during Eid congregations.
Entry to Eid gatherings will be allowed only through designated routes after body searching, while no parking will be permitted near mosques and imambargahs.
To ensure smooth traffic flow across the city during Eid days, more than 500 officers and officials of Islamabad Traffic Police will perform duties. Special pickets have also been set up to prevent one-wheeling.
More than 2,000 police officers and officials will be deployed for security at public places, parks, and graveyards. At recreational spots, along with special police squads, foot patrols, bicycle patrols, and mounted units will also be deployed.
Only families will be allowed entry into family parks in the federal capital, Islamabad. During Chand Raat and Eid days, special squads of women police will also perform duties at recreational spots.
On Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr, police station mobiles, special Dolphin Squad teams, and all patrolling units will conduct special patrols across the city. Strict action will be taken against those involved in aerial firing, one-wheeling, and other illegal activities.
DIG Islamabad stated that Islamabad Police will utilize all available resources to ensure foolproof security arrangements on Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr.
