Iran delegation to arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday for US talks, reports CNN

An Iranian delegation is expected to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow (Tuesday) for talks with the United States, sources familiar with the negotiations told CNN.

The team is likely to include the same officials as the previous round, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Sources said Iran expects a symbolic joint announcement on Wednesday to extend the ceasefire.

If progress is made, and US President Donald Trump agrees to travel to Islamabad, Iran’s president could also attend, paving the way for a joint meeting and the signing of an “Islamabad declaration”.

There has been no official confirmation from Tehran on the visit. The development comes after high-level talks last weekend failed to produce an agreement.
