Israeli army reports killing of two Palestinians in separate Gaza incidents along ‘Yellow Line’

The Israeli military said that two individuals were killed in separate incidents in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, Al Jazeera reported.

According to a statement posted on X, one case took place in northern Gaza, where troops opened fire on a person described as a “terrorist” who was in the so-called “Yellow Line” zone and allegedly approached Israeli forces in what was deemed an immediate threat.

In another incident in the south, a second individual was shot dead after reportedly crossing the same demarcation line and moving towards Israeli troops in a manner the military also characterised as posing an imminent danger.

The “Yellow Line” refers to the boundary to which Israeli forces pulled back during the initial phase of the Gaza ceasefire that began last October. Despite the truce, fatalities in the territory have continued to be reported almost daily.

Separately, al-Shifa Hospital reported that at least five people, including three children, were killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza late on Wednesday, with the bodies brought to the facility. –Agencies
