PTA conducts joint QoS Surveys in AJK & GB

ISLAMABAD: PTA has conducted Joint Quality of Service (QoS) Surveys across four cities of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) and five cities of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) during the 4th Quarter of 2025 (October–December) to assess the performance of Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs).
The surveys were carried out in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Rawalakot, and Palandri in AJK, as well as Astore, Gilgit, Ghakuch, Hunza, and Shigar in GB. PTA field teams utilized advanced QoS monitoring tools to evaluate Voice Calls, SMS, and Mobile Broadband/Data Sessions in technology autodetect mode. The assessment was conducted to determine compliance with NGMS licenses and QoS Regulations 2021.
The findings indicate that the majority of CMOs achieved compliance with 4G/LTE signal strength benchmarks. In terms of performance, Zong led in download speeds within AJK, while SCOM and Telenor demonstrated strong performance in Gilgit Baltistan. Overall, compliance levels remained high among operators, ensuring reliable connectivity for consumers across the surveyed regions.  PTA has directed operators to implement necessary corrective measures in areas where non-compliance was observed. The detailed survey results have been made available on PTA’s official website for public information https://www.pta.gov.pk/category/qos-survey-959959384-2023-05-30. –Agencies
