ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired meetings. The meetings were attended by DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, SSP CTD Saud Khan, Director Special Initiatives Shams-ul-Haq Durrani, and other senior officers.
IGP Islamabad conducted a detailed review of the overall security situation in Islamabad, ongoing and proposed counterterrorism measures, construction projects in police stations, and initiatives launched to improve public service delivery. He sought performance reports from the relevant officers and also discussed opportunities for improvement in various departments.
On this occasion, he issued directives to all officers, emphasizing that the protection of citizens’ lives and property must be the top priority. He stressed the need to make the policing system more effective, transparent, and citizen-friendly, and to promote the use of technology by adopting strategies aligned with modern requirements.
He further directed that coordinated and proactive measures be taken to prevent crime and ensure a prompt response.
Furthermore, the IGP Islamabad held a meeting with the Accounts Officer and Admin Officer, where he reviewed in detail the performance, administrative matters, and financial discipline of various branches of the Central Police Office. He issued clear instructions to improve institutional performance, ensure transparency, and enhance administrative efficiency.
Later, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held a Khuli Kachehri under the “Open Door Policy.” He listened to the concerns of citizens and police officers and issued on-the-spot directions for their resolution.
IGP Islamabad stated that resolving citizens’ issues on merit and without delay is the top priority. He said that any citizen facing issues related to the police can attend the public forum, adding that his doors are always open to the public.
He also directed the concerned officers to address complaints within the stipulated timeframe on merit and submit reports to the Central Police Office. He further added that Islamabad Police is taking various initiatives for public facilitation, and that holding daily open forums is helping resolve issues on a priority basis.
