ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired a meeting with DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq and SP City Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain. During the meeting, the law-and-order situation in the federal capital, crime prevention efforts, security measures, and facilities being provided to citizens were reviewed.
IGP Islamabad also conducted a detailed review of the performance of the City Zone, patrolling system, police response, security arrangements, and measures related to the immediate resolution of public issues. He directed senior police officers to further strengthen indiscriminate actions against criminal elements and ensure their presence in the field.
He stated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the top priority of Islamabad Police; therefore, all officers must perform their duties with honesty, professionalism, and responsibility. He further directed that the patrolling system be made more active to ensure timely prevention of crime.
IGP Islamabad also emphasized the immediate resolution of citizens’ issues, better coordination, and improvement in public dealing. He said that strengthening trust between the police and the public is the need of the hour, and officers should adopt a courteous and professional attitude toward citizens.
Later, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held an open court under the “Open Door Policy” at the Central Police Office (CPO) Islamabad, where he listened to the concerns of citizens and police officers and issued on-the-spot orders for their immediate resolution.
He stated that resolving citizens’ issues on merit and on a priority basis is the foremost priority of Islamabad Police. Any citizen facing a police-related issue can attend the open court session, as his doors are always open to the public.
IGP Islamabad directed the concerned officers to resolve citizens’ applications on merit within the stipulated time and submit reports to the Central Police Office. He also instructed all SDPOs and SHOs to strictly observe office timings and resolve public issues on a priority basis.
He further stated that Islamabad Police is taking various measures to provide better facilities to citizens, and the daily arrangement of open court sessions is helping in the prompt resolution of public issues.
