Musadik reiterates support for Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Senator Dr. Musadik Malik on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), saying their right to self-determination remained an integral part of Pakistan’s national policy.
In a message issued on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, the minister described India’s unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, as illegal and unacceptable, stating that they were in violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.
He said Pakistan would continue to raise the Kashmir issue at every international forum and would never leave the Kashmiri people alone in their just struggle for their internationally recognised right to self-determination.
Dr. Musadik Malik urged the international community to play its role in protecting the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people and to support a peaceful resolution of the dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
He said lasting peace and stability in South Asia were closely linked to a just and peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute. The minister paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, saying their resilience and struggle for freedom remained a symbol of courage and determination. He added that the entire Pakistani nation stood in complete solidarity with the people of IIOJK and would continue extending its unwavering support until the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the relevant UN resolutions. –Agencies
