ISLAMABAD: On the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan and Pakistanis living abroad. He said that freedom is a great blessing and called upon citizens to celebrate Independence Day with national spirit, responsibility, and gratitude. IGP Islamabad stated that a comprehensive security plan has been put in place to maintain law and order across the federal capital. More than 4,000 police officers and officials will perform security duties at various locations, including patrolling, picketing, markets, major roads, and other important areas. He said that Islamabad Police officials will remain deployed in the field around the clock to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
He further said that Islamabad Police has made extensive security arrangements so that citizens can celebrate Independence Day in a safe and peaceful environment. Officers and officials will remain vigilant throughout the city, while necessary measures have also been taken to prevent any untoward incident. IGP Islamabad made it clear that wheelie riding, aerial firing, hooliganism, dangerous driving, or harassing citizens will not be permitted under any circumstances. Anyone found involved in illegal activities will face strict and indiscriminate legal action.
He urged parents to guide their children and young family members about the true spirit and purpose of Independence Day. He emphasized that everyone has the right to celebrate freedom, but one person’s freedom should never become a source of inconvenience, distress, or danger for others.
IGP Islamabad appealed to citizens to celebrate Independence Day with their families, visit parks and recreational places, and express gratitude to Allah Almighty for the blessing of freedom. He also urged citizens to remain responsible, respect others, and cooperate with the police. In his concluding message, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi once again congratulated the nation on Independence Day and prayed for the progress, peace, prosperity, and security of Pakistan. He said that Pakistan belongs to all of us and that protecting its peace, freedom, and future is a shared responsibility.
