ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) organized a Mehfil-e-Milad for women in connection with the sacred occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) on Tuesday.
The Mehfil was arranged to promote the tradition and culture of Naat Khawani, foster love and devotion for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), and highlight the importance of following his Sunnah.
Such gatherings reflect PNCA’s continued commitment to preserving and promoting Pakistan’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. The sacred gathering commenced with Qirat. Renowned television anchor and Naat Khawan Professor Salma Khan hosted the Mehfil and enlightened the audience about the blessings and significance of reciting Darood-e-Pak, remembering the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and incorporating his teachings and Sunnah into our daily lives.
Renowned Naat Khawans from the twin cities, including Mehmooda Qamar, Sabeen Younas, Rukhsana Sehar, Alina Noor, Neelum Shehzadi and Tasneem Akhtar, participated in the Mehfil and presented heartfelt Naats in praise of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Mehmooda Ghazia, a renowned poet, also presented her Naat, adding to the spiritual atmosphere of the gathering.
The soulful renditions moved many in the audience, creating an atmosphere of deep devotion and reflection. Madam Iffat Khalid, Islamic Scholar, addressed the audience and highlighted the importance and blessings of reciting Darood-e-Pak, emphasizing its significance in the light of Islamic teachings.
Farrah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
In her address, she spoke about the importance of remembering and expressing love for the Last Messenger of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), and emphasized the significance of reciting Darood-e-Pak in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Quran.
She further stated that such events play a vital role in nurturing the younger generation’s connection with Islamic values and the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Referring to the exalted status and remembrance of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Quran states in Surah Al-Inshirah: “And We have exalted for you your remembrance.” (94:4)
The Mehfil concluded with collective recitation of Darood-e-Pak and prayers for peace, prosperity and well-being of the entire humanity, particularly the Muslim Ummah around the world.
The spiritual and well-organized arrangements of the Mehfil-e-Milad were highly appreciated by the audience.
They expressed their appreciation for PNCA’s efforts and urged the Council to continue organizing such spiritually enriching programmes on a regular basis. The officials of PNCA reaffirmed their commitment to organizing more such events throughout the year to keep the spirit of Eid Milad-un-Nabi alive within the community.
