LAHORE: Saliqa was a brand name in Pakistan for decades, known to almost every woman across the country as it was perhaps the first and very popular sewing machine of Pakistan.

But now, Saliqa has been redefined and has a new identification and branding and this time yet this new Saliqa phenomenon, in yet another bid to empower underprivileged women across Pakistan, held a latest outing at the cultural hub of the country and the city of Gardens, Lahore, over the weekend, providing these womenfolk a platform where they could apply their skills and earn a livelihood. At the : Lahore event, which was largely attended by girls and women from all walks of life, Saliqa, as usual, displayed blending craftsmanship with social impact, creating bespoke wedding packaging.
The participants showed keen interest, not only in making purchases at the event but also in learning this unique art while having a wonderful weekend evening at an amazingly decorated place with spectacular ambiance. The Saliqa founders, Nabila Masood and Uzma Hadi are themselves young enthusiast very seriously determined to make weddings ceremonies more joyful with adding extra colors and spice to the whole event while concentrating on turning the packaging of dresses and event giveaways into a a unique and classical art for people with a touch and sense for art.

The duo; launched the Saliqa project back in 2025 and since then the become a reputed brand and has received great recognition and appreciation.
The Saliqa duo says that they felt the need to create items that would bring elegance and aesthetic appeal to event giveaways, particularly the exchange of gifts at weddings and also to transfer the art to womenfolk, empowering them through skills to become successful entrepreneurs.
They have been meeting women in remote areas who are highly skilled in handicrafts but had limited opportunities to use their talent. According to them, this inspired them to launch this project which has by now also become a handsome business model as well.
The Saliqa duo holds great appreciation for art and décor which is crystal clearly visible in their work, as every piece they create is unique and has an intrinsic beauty. The intricate detailing and delicate embellishments give each product an exquisite appearance.
