ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police has intensified search and combing operations in various areas of the federal capital to curb crime and crackdown on criminal elements. The grand search and combing operations were conducted under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, and monitored by the respective zonal SPs. During these search operations, a total of 329 individuals, 104 households, 28 shops, 23 hotels, 240 motorcycles and 75 vehicles were thoroughly checked.
Additionally, 12 suspicious individuals and 21 motorcycles were also shifted to the police station for further verification. Moreover, accused involved in the possession of illegal weapons were arrested, and two pistols of various calibers, along with ammunition, were recovered. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza stated that the objective of these search operations is to tighten the noose around criminal elements and further enhance security across the city.
Such operations are being conducted in different areas throughout the district. Islamabad Police continues indiscriminate action against criminal elements, land grabbers, and drug dealers, he added. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza said that Islamabad Police remains fully committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens across the federal capital. He said that under the “No to Weapon” campaign, comprehensive action is being taken against the illegal possession and display of weapons, as well as aerial firing.
He further stated that effective measures are also being taken to apprehend proclaimed offenders and individuals with previous criminal records, while ensuring prompt access to justice for citizens. SSP Operations Islamabad urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to their nearest police station or the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, enabling the police and the public to work together to make the federal capital safer and more secure.
