CIA busts robbers’ gang recovering cash worth Rs2.9m

ISLAMABAD: Criminal Investigation Agency; CIA of Capital Cops, busted a gang of robbers comprising of three members and recovered looted cash worth Rs. 2.9 millions along a motorbike from them.
According to details, IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan ordered crackdown against criminals. Following these orders, DIG Operations Waqar-Ud-Din Syed had directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb crime in the city. Thus, following these directions, SP Investigation Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP CIA Hakim Khan including ASI Muhammad Akram Ranjha and others. The given team busted a gang of robbers and involved in numerous robberies in various parts of Tarnol.
The accused were later identified as Rizwan s/o Muhammad Farooq R/O Rawalpindi, Yaseen Khan s/o Kabul Khan r/o Westridge Rawalpindi and Asif Jilani s/o Ghulam Qadir r/o Gulzar-e-Quaid, Rawalpindi. Cops’ team also recovered looted cash worth Rs. 2.9 millions and a motorbike from them. Moreover, during preliminary investigation, the accused confessed their involvement in incidents of robberies in different areas of Tarnol and it’s surroundings. Further investigation is underway from the accused.
DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the overall performance while directing all police officials to ensure effective policing measures in their respective areas.
