Court reserves verdict in Fahad Malik murder case

ISLAMABAD: A local court reserved its verdict after six years in murder case of Barrister Fahad Malik.
Fahad Malik, a nephew of former Chairman Senate and PTI leader Mohammed Mian Soomro, was gunned down in Sector F-10 of Islamabad in August 2016.
District and Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani reserved decision after completion of arguments from lawyers of the two sides. Advocate Akram Qureshi and Zain Qureshi represented the plaintiff and the murder victim.
Accused Raja Arshad, Raja Hashim and Noman Khokhar were nominated in the murder case. The defence lawyers and prosecutor have also concluded their contentions. District and Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani will announce the verdict of Barrister Fahad Malik murder case on October 18.
Barrister Fahad Malik was murdered on Margalla Road in a densely populated area of Islamabad allegedly by accused Noman Khokhar, Raja Arshad and Raja Hashim, while discharging his legal duties as a lawyer, to reach a compromise between two parties.

10 held, arms & drugs seized

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police apprehended 10 criminals involved in criminal activities and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession. DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha had ordered all zonal officers to curb the crime in their respective areas and arrest those involved in criminal activities and looting innocent people.
Following these directives, a Bhara kahu police team arrested an accused namely Mubashir Ahmed and recovered one 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from his possession. Likewise, the Phulghran police team arrested an accused namely Usman Mehmood and recovered one 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from his possession.
Similarly, Karachi Company police arrested two accused namely Arslan Amjad and Muhammad Shafi and recovered one 223 bore gun and one 9mm pistol along with ammunition. Margalla police arrested an accused namely Muhammad Javed and recovered one 12 bore gun from his possession.
Moreover, Tarnol police team arrested an accused namely Khandan and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. Koral police arrested 03 accused namely Muhammad Hamad, Zohaib and Ahad for possessing illegal weapons and recovered three 30 bore pistols from their possession. Furthermore, Sabzi Mandi police arrested a drug peddler namely Shah Fahad and recovered 4858 grams of hashish from his possession. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
