CTO orders stronger field policing

ISLAMABAD: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Kainat Azhar Khan chaired an important meeting at the Traffic Police Headquarters, Faizabad.
The meeting was attended by the SP Traffic and all zonal DSPs.
During the meeting, the traffic situation on various major roads, issues faced by citizens, measures to further improve traffic management, and ongoing enforcement actions against traffic violations were also discussed. The concerned officers briefed the CTO Islamabad on traffic flow and field duties in their respective zones.
On the occasion, the CTO Islamabad stated that traffic flow should be maintained along with public facilitation during peak hours. A strict crackdown should be carried out against illegal parking in commercial centers, shopping malls, and weekly bazaars.
He further stated that efforts must be intensified to protect the citizens of Islamabad from accidents, maintain discipline on roads, ensure compliance with traffic laws, and take stricter and more effective legal action against serious violations, especially no-parking, over speeding and encroachments. He emphasized that the top priority of Islamabad Traffic Police is to provide better travel facilities to citizens and ensure their safety on the roads.
