ISLAMABAD: The Developing-8 (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation on Friday extended heartfelt felicitations to the leadership, government and people of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of their Independence Day.
In a statement issued here, the D-8 Organization said the historic day reflects Azerbaijan’s unwavering resolve, protection of sovereignty and commitment to national development.
The organization noted that under the visionary leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan continues to achieve remarkable progress in socio-economic development, regional connectivity, cooperation and global engagement.
The D-8 also acknowledged Azerbaijan’s valuable contributions to the organization since assuming membership in 2025, expressing confidence that the country’s role within the group would further strengthen in the years ahead.
The statement reaffirmed the D-8’s commitment to enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation and advancing the shared vision of sustainable development across member states.
The organization also conveyed best wishes to the people of Azerbaijan for continued peace, security, prosperity and progress.
It is pertinent to mention here that the D-8 comprises Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Türkiye — collectively representing over 1.2 billion people and a combined GDP exceeding $5 trillion. –Agencies
