DIG Security Rana Umar Farooq assumes charge

ISLAMABAD: DIG Security Rana Umar Farooq formally assumed his charge and immediately began taking swift and effective steps regarding security affairs. On this occasion, he chaired an important high-level meeting at the Diplomatic Enclave, which was attended by SSP VIP Security Capt. (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider along with senior officers of the Security division.
During the meeting, SPs from various units provided comprehensive briefings regarding the security of the Diplomatic Enclave, Red Zone, External Red Zone, and sensitive private and government buildings. DIG Security Rana Umar Farooq thoroughly reviewed the current security challenges, threats, and protective arrangements, and issued several important directives to further strengthen foolproof security measures.
He stated that the protection of important installations, diplomatic missions, and sensitive buildings in the federal capital is the top priority, and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard. He directed all officers to further tighten security arrangements in the Red Zone and Diplomatic Enclave and make them more effective in line with modern requirements, while ensuring continuous monitoring of suspicious activities.
The meeting also discussed improving surveillance of entry and exit points, the checking system, emergency response, and security coordination so that any potential threat can be effectively countered. DIG Security made it clear that there will be no compromise on security matters, and all available resources will be utilized to ensure the protection of citizens, diplomatic staff, and important installations.
