Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Police, in collaboration with the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and educational institutions, conducted a significant meeting at the Central Police Office on the occasion of International Day against Narcotics.
The meeting was chaired by Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the meeting aimed to address the rising concern of drug abuse among the youth and strategize effective measures to combat this menace.
The meeting saw the participation of key stakeholders, including representatives from Islamabad Capital Police, ANF, and various educational institutions. Notable attendees included Brigadier Ammar Ali, Regional Directorate Commander North from the Anti Narcotics Force, and high-ranking officers from Islamabad Capital Police, including the Capital Police Officer Headquarters, AIG Operations, and SSP Operations.
During the session, ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan emphasized the critical role of social response and proper guidance in preventing youth from falling prey to drug addiction. He acknowledged the concerted efforts of law enforcement agencies, including ANF, in combating drug-related activities in Pakistan.
ICCPO Dr. Khan urged educational institutions to collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies to safeguard students from this menace, highlighting that letters have already been dispatched to all institutions in this regard.
Representatives from educational institutions proposed the organization of refresher courses and awareness campaigns, aimed at shielding young students from the dangers of drugs and promoting a comprehensive understanding of its adverse consequences.
By fostering awareness among the younger generation, the aim is to break the network of drug dealers and prevent the destruction of young lives. ICCPO Dr Akbar Nasir Khan affirmed the commitment of Islamabad capital police to bring those involved in drug trafficking to justice and prevent them from jeopardizing the future of our society.
This meeting represents a vital step in the collective effort to combat drug abuse within our community. By fostering collaboration between law enforcement agencies and educational institutions, Islamabad Capital Police aims to create a safe and drug-free environment for our young generation, he added.
