LAHORE: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday paid tribute to the security forces for carrying out successful operations in North Waziristan and eliminating 27 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij during the past 72 hours.
In a statement, the prime minister praised the bravery and professionalism of the security forces, saying the entire nation was proud of its courageous soldiers who continue to make sacrifices for the country’s peace and security.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the nefarious designs of Fitna al-Khawarij and their facilitators would be foiled at all costs. He also expressed satisfaction over the successful action against those responsible for the killing of Shaheed Malik Saifullah Dawar, saying that bringing the perpetrators to justice was a significant achievement.
The prime minister reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country, stating that operations by security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue until the complete elimination of the menace.
He said the fight against terrorism would be taken to its logical conclusion under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, adding that the eradication of externally sponsored terrorism from Pakistan remained the government’s foremost priority.
The prime minister emphasized that the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in the collective struggle against terrorism and expressed confidence that the country would succeed in defeating all threats to its peace and stability. –Agencies
