Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held separate telephone talks with the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain to discuss regional developments and efforts to reduce tensions, Qatar’s foreign ministry said.
According to a statement shared by the ministry on X, the ministers reviewed bilateral cooperation and discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and strengthen regional security and stability.
During the calls, Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of all parties committing to dialogue and diplomacy and implementing the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, including measures to ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
He also reaffirmed Qatar’s full support for efforts aimed at easing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that would help secure lasting peace and stability in the region. –Agencies
