QUETTA: Suspected militants blew up a railway track in the Saryab Road area of the provincial capital.
The explosion destroyed a two feet portion of the 13km-long railway track. As a result, several trains travelling from Quetta to other areas of the country faced disruption of services, said the railway authorities.
Frontier Corps, other law enforcement personnel, bomb disposal squad and the divisional superintendent of Pakistan Railways reached the site of the incident and started their investigation. According to security forces, bomb squad successfully defused another 20kg bomb planted on the railway track.
The attack comes days after security was beefed up in the city following visits by Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal.
