ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Shalimar police team has busted a notorious robbers gang known sallo gang and recovered snatched cash, mobile phone and weapons.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas had categorically ordered all zonal officers to curb the crime in their respective areas and arrest those involved in looting innocent people. Following the orders, a police team of PS Shalimar headed by SHO Shalimar Suleman Shah along with officials apprehended two accused of a robbers gang later identified as Suleman alias sallo and Shehbaz. Police team also recovered snatched cash, mobile phone and weapons from their possession. During preliminary investigation, the accused have confessed their involvement in looting women on gunpoint coming for shopping in markets in posh sectors of G-9, F-8, F-10, F-11 and blue area. They were involved in nine cases of robberies registered at PS Shalimar. The accused have been sent to jail on judicial remand for identification parade.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas and SSP Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran have appreciated the police team performance. IGP Islamabad further directed all zonal officers to intensify the crackdown against the criminals. “The officers with good performance will be rewarded while the officers showing laxity towards their official duties will be dealt with iron hands” he maintained.
Cases against all the nominated accused have been registered and further investigation is underway.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated this overall performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard”, he added.
