ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday hosted a farewell reception in honour of Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman on the occasion of his retirement from judicial office.
The farewell hi-tea was hosted by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi and attended by all judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Federal Shariat Court.
Addressing the gathering, the chief justice paid tribute to Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman’s judicial career, professional excellence and integrity. He praised his services to the judiciary and his commitment to the rule of law, particularly highlighting his contributions towards improving judicial performance in the criminal justice system.
Justice Yahya Afridi said that the dignified conduct, humility and dedication of Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman to constitutional and judicial values had earned him respect within the judiciary, the legal community and among litigants.
He observed that the retirement of Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman marked the conclusion of a distinguished chapter of judicial service, adding that his professional legacy and contributions would continue to inspire the institution.
The chief justice also extended prayers and best wishes for the health, happiness and future success of the retiring judge.
