Under-training cops briefed on prisoners’ rights

ISLAMABAD: A special training lecture was organized for under-training police officers at the Capital Police College Islamabad, in which Director Education National Police Foundation, Abdul Qayyum Gondal, participated as the chief guest.
The purpose of the lecture was to enhance the professional capabilities of officers, familiarize them with modern correctional systems, and provide practical training regarding administrative affairs.
During the lecture, the Director Education NPF gave a detailed briefing to the officers on the prison system, administrative structure, security arrangements, prisoner’s rights, and modern rehabilitation methods.
He stated that according to the demands of the modern era, it is essential for law enforcement officers not only to understand security matters but also to be aware of reformative and welfare aspects in order to bring positive change in society. He further said that the reformation and rehabilitation of prisoners is an important national responsibility, for which it is necessary to promote modern training, psychological support, educational activities, and vocational programs.
He urged the under-training officers to prioritize humanitarian values, rule of law, and public service alongside professional competence during the performance of their duties. On this occasion, Director Special Initiatives Shams ul Haq Durrani visited the computer lab of the Police College and provided a detailed briefing regarding the available training and technical facilities.
He informed that modern technology, digital learning, and computerized training systems are being incorporated into training programs to equip officers with the ability to effectively tackle contemporary challenges.
