ISLAMABAD: Vice President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman has said that undoubtedly Prime Minister Imran Khan has lost majority in the National Assembly.
In a statement issued here on Friday, she said that after losing the mandate, there was no for Imran Khan to continue holding PM office any further.
However, Sherry Rehman said the prime minister was looking for unconstitutional means to continue his rule. She said that the members of the House including PTI MNAs have evidently expressed mistrust in Imran Khan and allied parties were also suggesting him to step down.
The PPP leader said that any irresponsible action of the government can the country instability and crisis. No-trust motion was a constitutional way and government should avoid any unconstitutional reaction, she urged. Sherry Rehman also urged Speaker National Assembly to fulfill his constitutional duty and play due role in the prevailing circumstances.
However, his statements don’t suit the Speaker, neither he can declare the members of house ineligible before voting, she added. –Agencies
