-Gold coins, biscuits recovered

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Authorities and Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled a bid to smuggle gold biscuits and coins to Qatar on Sunday. The officials recovered 282 grams of gold biscuits coins from an American national, Saifullah, who was about to leave for Doha on a Qatar Airways flight from Islamabad International Airport. The Airport Security Force (ASF) seized the gold coins and biscuits and allowed the passenger to leave for Doha on the Qatar Airways flight. The investigation into the matter has been underway. On September 23 last, a pistol and magazines were recovered from a British passenger’s luggage at Islamabad International Airport. The passenger named Fawad was travelling with his two sisters on EY-232 flight and during the search, police found pistols and magazines from his luggage. The passenger was handed over to the Airport Security Force (ASF) control room for further investigation and later Airport Security Force (ASF) handed over the passenger to the police along with the recovered pistol and magazines.
Drugs’ smuggling attempt thwarted

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Sadder Circle Cops thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to lower parts of the country and arrested three persons including a woman in possession of cache of drugs. According to details, following orders of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has categorically directed all police officers to accelerate their efforts against drug dealers/smugglers and curb this menace from Capital. Following the directives, SP Saddar Circle Muhammad Sarfarz Virk constituted special anti-drug police team under the supervision of DSP Khalid Mehood Awan including PS Tarnol’s SHO SI Alamgir Khan, Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Khan and Shahid Asghir along with others officials. This team nabbed two drug pushers including a lady from Chungi No. 26 besides recovery of 1.295 kilogram heroin and 550 garm hashish from their possession. Moreover, the accused were later identified as Anzar Gul and Shahida Bibi. Both have confessed, during preliminary investigation, of smuggling the given cache of drug from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad and various cities of Punjab.
Meanwhile, PS Golra team including Inspector Sham-ul-Akber, Sub-Inspectors Munir Khan along with others officials nabbed drug pusher namely Mumtaz besides recovery of 1.160 kilogram hashish from him. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused while further investigation is underway from the accused. IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed have appreciated this performance. They also requested the citizens to inform police in case of any such suspicious activity in their areas.
