TIANJIN: China’s northern port city of Tianjin received nearly 9.8 million visits during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday that started from Oct. 1, said the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism on Friday. The visits were about 93.9 percent of the figure from last year, according to the bureau.
Tourism revenue totaled 5.87 billion yuan (about 865 million U.S. dollars) during the holiday, recovering to 92 percent of the revenue gained in the same period in 2019. Tourist sites in the city took measures to cap visitor numbers at 75 percent of their maximum capacity amid tight epidemic prevention and control. – Agencies
