ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa was informed on Monday that around 65 per cent work completed on the upcoming Asan Khidmat Markaz, a key public-service initiative that will streamline citizen facilitation across Islamabad.
Chairing a review meeting Chairman CDA was briefed that construction on the centre is progressing rapidly and is entering its final stages. Officials informed the chairman that the facility is being developed on modern lines, integrating digital systems to allow residents to access a wide range of government services under one roof.
Randhawa directed the relevant departments to ensure both timely completion and adherence to the highest quality standards. “The Asan Khidmat Markaz will significantly ease the public’s access to essential services and serve as a model for efficient governance,” he noted.
While the Asan Khidmat Markaz dominated the agenda, the chairman was also updated on other major development schemes.
Officials reported that 80 per cent work on the T-Chowk Interchange has been completed, while girder launching has begun on the Shaheen Chowk Underpass, with construction continuing 24/7. The chairman instructed the installation of permanent LED and SMD lights to enhance the overall aesthetics of both projects.
Progress on the Faizabad Interchange Remodeling Project was also reviewed, where new loops are being constructed to address chronic congestion between the twin cities. Randhawa directed CDA to coordinate with Traffic Police to maintain smooth vehicular flow during ongoing works.
The meeting was informed that surveillance cameras have been installed across major construction sites for improved oversight. The chairman stressed round-the-clock monitoring to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of all projects.
