ISLAMABAD: In 2025, the Islamabad Police Logistics division demonstrated outstanding and effective performance. As the force commander, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi ensured the immediate disbursement of PKR 283.5 million in outstanding payments to the families of 145 police officers who were martyred or died during service.
Under the Shaheeds’ package, three children of martyred officers were inducted into the police department and are currently performing duties in different divisions of Islamabad Police.
The Shuhada branch at Headquarters plays a key role in providing welfare support and resolving issues faced by the families of officers and personnel who sacrificed their lives to protect citizens’ lives and property and to maintain peace and order in the federal capital.
On the special directions of IGP Islamabad, several important initiatives were taken for the welfare of martyrs’ families. During 2025, the Logistics division released over PKR 100 million for the welfare of 57 serving, martyred, deceased, and injured police officers and their families.
Additionally, PKR 93 million was paid as marriage gifts to 166 children of serving police officers. PKR 14.4 million was paid as marriage grants to 19 children of martyred or deceased officers. PKR 9.9 million was paid for educational expenses of 309 children of serving officers, while over PKR 3.3 million was paid for 32 children of martyred officers. PKR 65.5 million was paid as financial assistance and recoverable loans to 483 police officers and martyrs’ families.
Over PKR 12.4 million was paid as subsistence allowance to 640 widows of police officers. PKR 1 million was paid for funeral expenses of 5 martyred officers, and PKR 5.35 million for 70 deceased officers. Medical assistance of PKR 151.9 million was provided to 1,576 serving officers, and over PKR 9 million to 48 retired officers.
Moreover, over PKR 139.4 million was paid to 221 retired officers under leave encashment. Cash rewards amounting to PKR 22.2 million were distributed among 2,898 Islamabad Police officers, while over PKR 91.7 million was distributed among 760 Traffic Police officers for outstanding performance.
On 4 August 2025, the Martyrs’ memorial of Islamabad Police was formally named in honor of fallen officers so that their eternal sacrifices are always remembered and recorded in golden letters in history. Special events were also organized to honor officers injured in the line of duty, during which 18 officers were awarded Ghazi titles and 23 officers received Shujaat medals for exceptional courage.
Under the direct supervision of IGP Syed Ali Nasir RIzvi, further crucial initiatives were also implemented in 2025 to enhance the capacity of the Logistics division, resulting in significant improvements in operational capability and professional responsibilities of Islamabad Police.
To promote friendly policing and reduce the gap between police and the public, the Logistics division organized 1,259 different programs, including the Summer School 2025 for children’s physical and mental development, self-defense courses for citizens, establishment of a modern Islamabad Police shooting practice club and swimming pool, and the launch of a sports talent hunt program to promote healthy activities among police personnel.
During the year, IGP Islamabad held physical and online open courts under the open door policy to ensure timely resolution of citizens’ issues. A total of 1,123 applications were received. Additionally, 3,428 complaints were received via the IGP Helpline 1715, 3,607 complaints through the Complaint Management System, and 3,149 complaints through the Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit. Senior police officers ensured prompt action on all complaints with merit and transparency.
To address issues faced by police officers, a special Police Welfare Center at the Central Police Office remained fully operational. During 2025, 1,699 applications of various types were received and resolved in a timely manner, including GP fund, house building, car and motorcycle advances, medical bills, NOCs, transfers/postings, service records, and pay slip corrections.
In 2025, 1,059 officers were promoted, including 10 SPs, 27 DSPs, 94 Inspectors, 189 Sub-Inspectors, 311 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and 388 Head Constables, along with 40 ministerial staff officers. Various branches within the Logistics division played an important role in improving departmental functions.
The accounts branch facilitated welfare services such as house building allowance, car and motorcycle advances, medical bill payments, and assistance with financial and banking issues. During 2025, the branch processed 722 family pensions, GP fund transfers, and leave encashment cases, corrected salaries of 400 officers through the AGPR SAP system, ensured payment of over PKR 151.9 million in medical bills and forwarded 837 cases of house building, car, and motorcycle advances to AGPR.
Islamabad Police signed MOUs with a private healthcare institution to provide quality medical facilities at subsidized rates, issuing 340 health cards to serving officers and 254 pensioner cards. MOUs were also signed with three educational institutions, providing special fee concessions for the children of martyrs, Ghazis, and serving officers.
Under the special attention of IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Police Lines dispensary was upgraded with modern medical equipment and improved systems. Qualified doctors including general physicians, dental surgeons, diabetes specialists, and others now conduct daily checkups. Additionally, a special team under the supervision of a DSP-rank officer remains available 24/7 in all government hospitals of Islamabad to assist police officers.
At Headquarters Inquiry branch, 385 complaints against police officers were received and decided strictly on merit and transparency. To ensure timely supply of quality uniforms, the uniform store continued to provide seasonal uniforms and all necessary equipment. The Logistics division also ensured renovation of existing barracks and maintenance of the Martyrs’ memorial, providing better residential facilities for police officers.
During 2025, the Logistics division successfully organized six major events at Police Lines Headquarters, including special arrangements on Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha, quality meals for police personnel, organized iftar arrangements during Ramadan, and honorary ceremonies to recognize and pay tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs and Ghazi police officers.
AIG Logistics Abdul Haque Umrani stated that the Logistics Division is a fundamental component of any organization, aimed at resolving administrative challenges in a timely manner while ensuring maximum employee welfare. He added that the Islamabad Police Logistics division is ensuring timely provision of financial, technical, and human resources required by other divisions to maintain peace and order in the federal capital and to provide all possible facilities to citizens.
