ISLAMABAD: Following the instructions of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, an important joint meeting of the Islamabad Police and district administration was convened to ensure law and order and optimal security arrangements in Islamabad.
The meeting was jointly chaired by IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by senior officers of Islamabad Police and the district administration.
On this occasion, discussions were held on ensuring divisional level security arrangements across Islamabad to secure the entire city. In line with the directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, implementation of a comprehensive strategy to make the capital city Islamabad the safest city will be ensured.
IGP Islamabad stated that the monitoring system at the entry and exit points of the federal capital should be further strengthened. A modern mechanism will also be developed to monitor movement and traffic within Islamabad. Similarly, the measures taken to further improve law and order and prevent crime in the city were reviewed.
He further said that the protection of citizens lives, property, and dignity is the top priority, and Islamabad Police is working day and night to ensure this. Moreover, security will be enhanced across the city, including the Diplomatic Enclave and Red zone.
Islamabad Safe City has been developed in line with modern requirements and contemporary standards. The IGP Islamabad stated that through Safe City cameras and modern technology, a monitoring mechanism has been established for the city main highways, centers, and sectors.
Timely actions are being taken to prevent terrorism and against criminal elements. Modern technology is also being utilized to make the federal capital a crime-free city, IGP said.
Issuing directives to all officers, he emphasized adopting a zero-tolerance policy against criminal elements and further improving the law and order situation in Islamabad. No compromise in this regard will be tolerated under any circumstances.
Strict surveillance will be maintained on individuals involved in suspicious activities, and complete data and details about them will be compiled. Senior officers, while giving briefings, stated that the door-to-door survey in urban areas has been completed, while in rural areas will be completed soon.
IGP Islamabad further directed that along with special monitoring of entry and exit points of Islamabad, patrolling across the city should also be increased. The city entry and exit points will be equipped with modern technology-based CCTV cameras. Effective and coordinated collaboration with all relevant institutions will be enhanced to further improve security in Islamabad.
All available resources and technology will be utilized to ensure the protection of citizens lives, property, and dignity. The protection of citizens lives and property remains our foremost priority, IGP Islamabad added.
