ISLAMABAD: An impressive ceremony, highlighting growing Pak-China diplomatic ties, was held here on Wednesday at a local hotel to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was the Chief Guest.
The event, hosted by the Chinese Embassy, was attended by a distinguished gathering of officials, diplomats, and other cross-sections of the people. Prominent among those were Speaker Nation Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The ceremony served as a reaffirmation of the strong bilateral ties and the multi-faceted cooperation between the two nations, particularly under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The Chinese Ambassador, in his remarks on the occasion, stated: China and Pakistan had all-weather strategic cooperative partners and ironclad brothers.
We are pleased to see that under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Pakistani has demonstrated growing resilience and vitality. By mid September this year, Pakistani foreign exchange reserves had risen to Dollar 27 dollars, he noted. He said, under the strategic leadership of both nations’ leaders, the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership has steadily advanced: high-level exchanges are frequent, strategic mutual trust continues to deepen, and our cooperation across various fields has yielded rich outcomes.
The all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between our two nations reaches an important milestone and faces new opportunities the ambassador said.
We stand ready to work with our brotherly country, Pakistan, to continuously strengthen strategic communication, deepen practical cooperation, advance high-quality development of CPEC 2.0.
Prime Minister in his speech, extended warm and heartfelt felicitations to the government and the people of China on the occasion of their 77th National Day, commemorating the founding of the nation in 1949.
He described the event as a testament to China’s remarkable journey of progress, unity, and national advancement.
Prime Minister lauded the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping, crediting it with propelling China to new heights in innovation, global engagement, and sustainable development.
The Prime Minister said:
“I extend my heartiest congratulations to President Xi Jinping and the great people of China. I pay tribute to the resilience of the Chinese people and their remarkable journey of national development, which stands among the most significant achievements in recent history.
China’s extraordinary development continues to inspire countries around the globe, especially Pakistan. Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has made tremendous progress in human development and has advanced important global initiatives. These are among the foundation pillars of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
This year holds special significance as we celebrate 75 years of friendship between Pakistan and China.
There is a deep and enduring bond between our two peoples.
Pakistan takes immense pride in its strategic partnership with China. Our iron-clad friendship has stood the test of time, and, in fact, our ties have grown stronger with every passing year.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor stands as a powerful symbol of our shared commitment to building a more prosperous future for our peoples.
We are now moving forward with CPEC 2.0, and I am particularly pleased with the progress we are making in agriculture. Pakistani agriculture graduates have completed their training in China, representing a valuable investment in the future of our young people.
Our golden friendship has transformed the distance between our two countries into closeness, bringing our two great nations and peoples ever nearer.
I conclude with a firm resolve that Pakistan will continue to move forward hand in hand with China, working together to build a shared future in the new era.”
