DIG directs strict security at cattle markets

ISLAMABAD: DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq chaired a high-level meeting regarding the security of cattle markets and crime prevention. The meeting was attended by SSP Investigation Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Security Operations Salman Zafar, zonal SPs, SP Capital Patrol, SP Traffic, SDPOs, and SHOs.
On this occasion, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq issued directives to all officers, emphasizing that foolproof security arrangements at cattle markets must be ensured at all costs and indiscriminate action should be taken against criminal elements. He instructed officers to personally visit the cattle markets, thoroughly review the security arrangements, and utilize all available resources to provide a safe environment for citizens.
He further directed that strict legal action be taken against illegal cattle markets in coordination and cooperation with the district administration. Citizens were also advised to park their vehicles only in designated parking areas to maintain smooth traffic flow and avoid inconvenience in movement.
DIG Islamabad also directed officers to intensify crackdowns against proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals, and individuals with prior criminal records involved in serious crimes. He stressed that indiscriminate action must be taken against active gangs involved in robbery, dacoity, and other heinous crimes.
He further emphasized that all patrolling units should remain active and visible in the field, while the patrolling system should be made more effective and purposeful. Special attention should be given to strengthening night patrols in order to prevent criminal activities effectively. He also instructed officers to further tighten and strengthen checking at all entry and exit points of the city to closely monitor the movement of suspicious individuals and criminal elements.
DIG Islamabad stated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the top priority of Islamabad Police. He directed all officers to organize open courts for the prompt resolution of public issues and ensure timely redressal of citizens’ complaints under community policing initiatives, so as to further strengthen the relationship of trust between the police and the public.
